What is important to know during week 33?

At 33 weeks the fetus is completely formed and is maturing the pulmonary system in preparation for breathing. This is a good time to take a tour of the maternity unit at the hospital or you may be attending childbirth classes. Prenatal care continues to monitor maternal health as well as evaluating fetal well-being and looking for signs of premature labor.

Your baby is doing a lot of growing in week 33. Be sure to follow your doctor's orders and be healthy during this time of important development. Braxton Hicks contractions are normal and not serious, but be aware of them. They are going to get stronger than ever and you should pay attention to timing to ensure that you are not going into preterm labor.
