So when a patient comes to the genetic clinic, what happens is that we review the patient's medical history.
and we also look at the family history because the family history can provide clues as to a potential genetic cause.

With that, we make an assessment of what are the potential diagnoses a patient may have regarding a genetic condition?
After that, a targeted physical exam is often performed, and then we go through the limitations and benefits
of genetic testing and discuss what the implications are for further management, whether there may be potential therapy or additional screening.
