Precision medicine is phraseology that has come up recently which is largely
synonymous with phrases you'll hear like individualized medicine, personalized medicine. Which I think just attempts to capture information
about individuals and using that for tailoring their medical care. Now I come from a genomics background.
The phrase we use in a more specific way is genomic medicine, capitalizing on genomic information as a means to tailor medical care.
When you broaden it beyond genomics to other individual attributes and exposures and things
like lifestyle and diet, then you get into a wider framing of precision medicine, individualized medicine.
And more recently being framed around this Precision Medicine Initiative.
