The primary symptoms of hyperemesis gravidarum are acute nausea and persistent vomiting. Most women have some morning sickness during pregnancy. But when nausea and vomiting are severe enough to cause dehydration and weight loss, it is called hyperemesis gravidarum and requires treatment.
