There are several good strategies for managing rosacea flare-ups in hot weather. Start the day with a cool shower, and dress in lightweight, loose-fitting clothing and a wide-brimmed hat if you will be in the sun. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends keeping your moisturizer in the refrigerator for instant relief if your skin is flushing, and putting your pillowcase in a plastic bag in the freezer and pulling it out just before you go to bed for a cool treat at night. Carry a portable fan and/or a water-spritzing bottle with you in hot weather, drink cold water throughout the day, and dab your face and neck with a cloth dipped in ice water to cool facial flushes.
