Will a wool scarf best protect rosacea sufferers from winter wind?

Dr. Mehmet Oz, MD
Cardiology (Cardiovascular Disease)
Wool is not recommended for people with rosacea, although it is important to protect your face from cold temperatures and harsh winds. Wool or any fabric that feels rough against your skin may irritate your skin, especially if you have rosacea. In addition, many people are allergic to wool. If you plan to do vigorous outdoor activities such as skiing or snowboarding, wearing a ski mask is probably best. If you want to protect your skin from cold while running errands, look for a neck warmer or scarf made of soft, cotton fleece material.
