How can I overcome erectile dysfunction (ED) if I have prostate cancer?

Dr. Mehmet Oz, MD
Cardiology (Cardiovascular Disease)
Odds are, guys who have prostate cancer will have erectile dysfunction (ED), troubles getting and maintaining an erection during sex. That's because the treatment itself for prostate cancer causes problems down south. Although you can't and shouldn't stop your cancer treatment, you can take action to treat your ED. Talk with your doctor about medications such as Viagra (sildenafil), which can increase blood flow and pump up your penis. Other treatment options include medication injected into your penis, constriction devices, penile implants, and suppositories. An open, honest talk with your doctor will go a long way toward reversing ED and restoring your sex life.
