What causes impotence in men?

Impotence in men can be caused by physical or psychological conditions. If the cause is psychological, men can still wake up with a morning erection but cannot get or maintain an erection during intercourse. This is usually caused by a psychological condition such as depression, stress or anxiety.

Men with a physical condition may not wake up with a morning erection. This implies that there is something wrong with the nerves and blood vessels that cause an erection. This type of impotence can be caused by paralysis, diabetes, cholesterol plaques in the blood vessels, and other causes. It is always a good idea to talk to a doctor about impotence.
