How can I manage stress in my life?
Stress is unavoidable, but it doesn't have to get the best of you. In this video, psychologist Dr. Jennifer Hartstein shares a simple approach to successfully managing stress.
We all have stress. And figuring out how to manage stress in our lives is the obstacle almost everybody really has to manage.
So figuring that out-- first step, you want to figure out what it is that's causing you stress. Are there things that you might be able to get rid of that cause you stress?
And if not, how do you integrate them into your life in a more comprehensive way? So one thing that I often suggest is make a list of the things that
create stress in your life. And then figure out how you want to handle each one. So if parenting is a stressful thing, as we all know it is,
what do you want to do to make it better? How do you co-parent more effectively? How do you provide for your kids? How do you plan for college future?
Planning and organization helps you from being overwhelmed, totally at a loss. So find a calendar for yourself.
Plan out your month with everybody's activities. Know who's doing what, where, and how are you going to get it all accomplished. Another really important thing-- structure and organization--
I can't stress it enough-- key things in helping keep anxiety and worry under control.
