The strategies for accepting and celebrating our life at menopause are:
- Exercise with activities that you find pleasurable and that bring you joy
- Eat healthily, sensibly, and with pleasure and enthusiasm
- Evaluate unhealthy practices, such as smoking and excessive alcohol consumption, and find ways to support healthy changes
- Seek out new ways of using and knowing your body through sports, dance, yoga, acting, sex, etc
- Practice loving the body you have lived in all these years
- Practice knowing your inner worth
- Support other women through compliments, listening, nurturing, and faithfulness
- Self-nurture through massages, hot baths, facials, walks, scented bath lotions, manicures, pedicures, sleep, flowers, candles, etc
- Reduce the number of hours you spend watching television, movies, and magazines whose images contribute to feelings of inadequacy
- Reject the cultural images of "perfect" women and embrace the image in the mirror and in the faces of female friends
- Celebrate the life that is uniquely yours
