Hormonal contraception is one very simple thing that women can do because we know that women that take any hormonal contraception,
whether it's a birth control pill or maybe a vaginal ring or a patch, are going to have a nice balance of estrogen and progestin.

The best way to prevent endometrial cancer is to make sure that there is that balance of estrogen and progesterone.
And there are a lot of different ways to do that. Hormonal contraception is one very simple thing
that women can do because we know that women that take any hormonal contraception, whether it's a birth control pill or maybe
a vaginal ring or a patch, are going to have a nice balance of estrogen and progestin. And when they take estrogen and progestin in that fashion,
the lining of the uterus is very thin and very inactive, which is why so many women who take birth control pills either get a light period or no period at all.
It's also very important, of course, to keep your weight down. We all know all of the reasons why it's a good idea to not have excess weight.
But a lot of women don't put uterine cancer on that list, and it really is at the top of the list for reasons
to make sure you can get the extra pounds off. Another way to reduce the excess estrogen
in the lining of the uterus is to use a progestin IUD. And not only does it prevent uterine cancer, but we are even using it in women
