Unfortunately gel injections, which are used to treat pain associated with arthritis in knee joints, are not approved at this time for shoulders. They have been effective for many patients who are willing to pay for them (because insurances won't cover non-FDA approved treatments like this). Studies are ongoing to try to obtain approval.
