answer

If you are taking aspirin, avoid drinking alcoholic beverages because there is a risk of stomach bleeding. Avoid taking aspirin on an empty stomach, as this can cause heartburn. Take it with water, milk, or food. Do not take any over-the-counter drugs without first getting your doctor's approval. Many over the counter medicines contain aspirin, and you could end up at an unsafe dosage.

Aspirin belongs to a class of widely used drugs, both prescription and over the counter, called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin), naproxen (Naprosyn or Aleve), and indomethacin (Indocin). Avoid taking other NSAIDs with aspirin. If your doctor has advised you to use aspirin for preventing further strokes or heart attacks, do not take ibuprofen especially, except if and how your physician directs.
