Remember, those liquid calories add up quickly. A 20-ounce soft drink has more than 200 calories, and a fancy iced coffee drink can tip the scales
at more than 400 calories. [MUSIC PLAYING]
Hi, Dr. Miller here with a simple strategy if you're dieting to lose weight. Sip a couple of cups of water before each meal.
You've probably heard this advice before, but researchers recently put this theory to the test in review studies done on the link between drinking
water and weight loss. The verdict, drinking more water is indeed linked to better weight loss. Researchers aren't sure exactly how water
helps dieters lose weight. It may be that the water helps you feel full so you eat less. But the weight loss effect only held true
for people who are actively dieting to lose weight. Folks who drank more water in general didn't weigh less than others.
In any case, replacing some of your beverages with water is a smart step especially when you're trying to lose weight.
