If your COPD is severe, your blood oxygen is low, and you don't smoke, your health care provider
may prescribe what's called oxygen therapy. It's important to be safe when using oxygen therapy,
as it can make flammable materials catch fire more easily and burn more quickly. Here are a few quick safety tips to keep in mind.
No one should smoke in a room where oxygen is being used. Keep oxygen at least six feet from flames, including gas stoves and ovens, fireplaces, and candles,
and electric appliances. Use a microwave to cook when possible. Keep oxygen away from cleaning products, alcohol,
and other flammable materials. Don't use petroleum-based beauty products. Use and maintain equipment properly and let your fire
