What should I do if I miss a dose of folic acid?

When taking folic acid, follow your doctor’s directions carefully, and be sure to read the package label. If you miss a scheduled dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it’s almost time for the next dose, just skip the missed one. Then return to your normal dosing schedule. You should never take a double dose.
