Does masturbating frequently cause premature ejaculation?

No studies seem to support the idea that men who masturbate are more likely to have premature ejaculation (PE).  A May 2013 study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine looked at this question, among others, in over 1000 men and did not find a link between PE and masturbation.  There are certain masturbatory techniques that men can be taught that may improve PE by teaching men to delay ejaculation during self-stimulation through applying pressure to various areas including the glans of the penis.

Studies show that men with premature ejaculation don’t do anything differently as far as masturbation than men who don’t suffer from this type of sexual dysfunction. In fact, their penile sensitivity is about the same.
