How do other illnesses affect pancreatic cancer?

Chronic pancreatitis (a chronically inflamed pancreas) increases the risk of getting pancreatic cancer. Also, diabetes is associated with a higher risk of getting pancreatic cancer, especially in women. Chronic alcoholism can also affect pancreatic cancer since it worsens and causes chronic pancreatitis, which increases your risk of getting pancreatic cancer.
