answer

Your doctor will conduct a physical and obtain your personal medical history to determine your diagnosis. Your symptoms may give an indication of the diagnosis, and pain may show where the injury is. A blood test will be done, as well as imaging scans such as an x-ray or ultrasound. A CT scan may also be performed to look for the internal injury. If necessary, your doctor may order some type of outpatient procedure to look for the source of the bleeding, such as a colonoscopy.
