Baldness is not transmitted person-to-person in an infectious fashion. Androgenetic baldness is hereditary in nature. As a result, it tends to pass from one generation to the next within a family. Non-genetic forms of baldness such as infections of the scalp can be transmitted from one person to another. In such cases, baldness may result from have contracted the infection. However, strictly speaking, baldness is not transmissible.
