In most areas in the United States, you do not need to boil water before mixing your baby's formula. If you have tap water that is treated by the city or use bottled water, you do not need to boil. If you have tap water that is well water, you should boil your water.

If you do boil your water, make sure to stir well and check the temperature on your own skin before giving the formula to your baby. Never use the microwave to boil the water.

That depends on your local water supply. In most areas in the United States, regular tap water is fine, but in some areas, primarily those where well water is used, it may be recommended to boil tap water for 1 minute to sterilize it
before using it to make formula. You can also buy bottled water.

In addition, you should determine whether there is fluoride in your area’s water supply and talk to your pediatrician or pediatric dentist about your baby’s fluoride needs. Although some fluoride is important for developing teeth that have not yet made their appearance above the gums, too much
fluoride can cause problems, especially for babies younger than 6 months.
