In most areas in the United States, you do not need to boil water before mixing your baby's formula. If you have tap water that is treated by the city or use bottled water, you do not need to boil. If you have tap water that is well water, you should boil your water.
If you do boil your water, make sure to stir well and check the temperature on your own skin before giving the formula to your baby. Never use the microwave to boil the water.
