Hi, I'm Dr. Vonda Wright with a workout that's packed with benefits. I'm talking about yoga.
[MUSIC PLAYING] It's no surprise the ancient practice has become
a phenomenon in recent years. Here are a few reasons yoga makes you look and feel fantastic.
It keeps your joints young. Yoga increases your flexibility, and the more flexible your muscles are, the better your
range of motion, which means less stress on your joints. It makes you stronger.
Some poses force your muscles to lift and hold your body weight, and that counts as resistance training.
It acts like a happy drug. Yoga boosts your levels of serotonin, dopamine, and endorphins.
Those are three feel good hormones that make you happy and content. It keeps you slim. One study found that yogis, or people who practice yoga,
eat more mindfully and are typically thinner than people who don't get on the mat. Finally, yoga restores your balance.
It can relax your body and in turn stabilize blood pressure, lower your heart rate, and improve your digestion,
and increase your feelings of calm. For more ways to live younger, watch all our tips right here.
