So it's important for physicians to stay up to date with new treatments and new advances, as not all patients are exactly the same.
And while many may respond very well to our current treatments, many may not.
So clinical guidelines have changed in regards to biologic therapy for chronic rhinosinusitis
with nasal polyps. And it's actually recommended to be using these biologic therapies, along
with other medical management and surgical management, because they have shown to reduce the need for repeat
surgical procedures. They've also shown to reduce the chances that these polyps will grow back again.
Especially for those who have recurrent and severe disease, biologic therapies are now a standard of care. The mechanisms are really important for physicians
to understand so that you can, one, start the patients on appropriate treatments and the correct biologic, for example.
And it's also important because it helps with surgical outcomes as well. If you identify a patient who has a lot of Th2 inflammation,
then they would really benefit from a biologic, which would then prevent them from needing a repeat surgery and prevent their nasal polyps from growing back
and improve their quality of life. [AUDIO LOGO] [MUSIC PLAYING]
