How Does Cellulite Occur?
Cellulite is caused and aggravated by genetics and hormones; connective tissue chambers trap fat cells and then bloat, which creates that dimpled appearance. Watch dermatologist Jeannette Graf, MD, explain what causes cellulite beneath the skin.
Transcript
Cellulite is caused and aggravated by two things: genetics and hormones.
It's genetics and hormones. And what basically happens is you have these connective tissue chambers that trap fat cells.
And as those fat cells become bloated, they raise above the skin and they give that orange peel
appearance. So what you need to do to diminish that is you need to stimulate lymphatic drainage,
because what that's going to do is it's going to get the toxins out and it's going to start de-bloating those fat cells.
