I had to run around with my head cut off when I was trying to figure out who do I need to contact with what kind of programs
that they have out there to help me pay for this $8,000 medicine.
I first started noticing the symptoms when I was working for Amazon in 2020. I went to see my PCP, my primary care,
and he recommended me to a rheumatologist. She diagnosed me on the spot with psoriatic arthritis.
Since this diagnosis, it has been really hard for me. Sometimes I can't walk. Sometimes I have to use my cane constantly.
I think the only barrier was when I first got started on treatments, my clinic that I was going to,
they sent my prescription in to the pharmacy and it was $8,000. And then on top of that, they didn't even cover it.
So I would have to go through a whole new system of getting my medicine and figure out how I was going to pay for it if I didn't have
insurance and stuff like that. Luckily they have actual programs that help you to pay for the medicine at no cost to you.
Mostly I'm grateful for the program that they referred me to in order to get that waived and I don't have to come out of pocket.
