Having a doctor of color, I think that at this point in my life, yes, it matters.
I was first diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis in 2016. When I was diagnosed at 26, having the team of doctors
that I have, I think that me asking a lot of questions helped me get my diagnosis.
Having a doctor of color, I think that matters. I feel like it's a different experience when, as a doctor, you know the journey I'm in.
The first year or two years, I was a little bit looked over. It got really, really bad again, and I
had to switch primary doctors. I had a doctor, she was the one who sent me or referred me
to a better team. The more that I can get people together and learn more, the more that I can give, and that is my mission.
And I hope that my message gets spread worldwide at one point. Me having two young boys, you know,
I want them to learn how to take care of themselves. [AUDIO LOGO]
