The anaerobic system is used for most of the metabolic training. This is because you are doing high intensity work for short periods of time with short rest periods. One of the benefits of metabolic training is that you can use any of the anaerobic systems by just adjusting how long you do the work period. A short work period of just a few seconds will train the higher end of the system using the ATP and creatine stores in the muscle, while longer work periods will use more muscle glycogen. Depending on what system you need to develop, you can design your metabolic circuit to fit your needs. This makes metabolic training a good way to train for a sport that requires you to create a lot of power in a short time with a short amount of rest time to perform the activity again and generate the same amount of power.
