Unfortunately, there is not one, single exercise that will improve your vertical jump, but an integration of a few exercises. Improving your vertical jump should focus on three areas:
  1. Improve leg strength and trunk posture through exercises like the squat and deadlift;
  2. Focus on reactive, plyometric jumping exercises like the box jump with countermovement vertical jump; and
  3. Improve your flexibility. This may seem a little outside of the box, but flexibility is valuable in making sure your mechanics are fluid through healthy muscle alignment and balance around your joints. Muscles that are working at optimal lengths produce optimal force.
