Begin by standing facing away from the leg extension machine. Place the stirrup around one foot, bend that knee, and balance on the other leg.  draw in and brace your abdominals and squeeze your glutes. With your knee bent, extend your leg until it is in full extension.  Hold for a second and then slowly bend the knee, returning to the starting position.
