Varicoceles are collections of veins around the spermatic cord in the scrotum. It is thought that the warming of the testicle by the blood collection in the varicocele can lead to infertility. Varicoceles are more common on the left. For all practical purposes, a vericocele is a varicose vein around the spermatic cord.
