answer
You should not abruptly stop taking rasagiline (brand name Azilect), even if you think it is not helping you with your symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Suddenly stopping this medication could cause a number of symptoms:
  • You may feel feverish or find that you are clumsier than usual.
  • You may find that your muscles are unusually stiff or rigid.
  • You may feel that your level of alertness or consciousness is different.
If you notice these symptoms after your doctor lowers your dose of rasagiline, tell him or her. Your doctor will probably bump your dose back up and then lower it more gradually.
