August of 2025 was when the first CGRP inhibitor got approved for pediatrics, and so that's
ages 6 through 17 years. And prior to this as headache specialists, we had been using these medications off-label.
But it was really hard to get insurance coverage for these very expensive medications. And so that really has been a game changer in my practice,
is the accessibility of CGRP inhibitors to our pediatric and teen population.
By intervening early when a child is having few headaches, you really have a chance to prevent their headaches
from becoming chronic. And so you really can prevent the chronification of migraine by intervening early and prescribing
effective treatments. [AUDIO LOGO]
