[MUSIC PLAYING] Camp Dream Street Is a five day, four night sleepaway
camp for kids aged 9 to 14 who has some sort of physical disability, as well as some mental.
To the campers and their parents, camp is completely free. Hello! [MUSIC PLAYING]
Camp Dream Street is a camp where kids with physical disabilities can just be a kid. All of the staff is volunteer.
Every camper is paired one-on-one with at least one counselor. Counselors are ninth grade to 12th grade.
If there was a new counselor who asked me about advice for Dream Street, or if they should do it, I'd tell them that anybody can do it,
because it's a great experience. And you just get to help the camper have this summer of his life. We have physicians.
We have nursing staff. We have occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, a social worker, and we all interact very closely on a day-to-day basis
to make sure that we coordinate the care that the child needs while they're at camp. I'm never happy with last summer being the best summer.
I always want this summer to be the best summer for each and every one of our campers. We have some other activities for you guys this afternoon.
Who's excited? [YELLING] Dream Street is near and dear to my heart because it truly is a place that we're
able to give back to society. This is awesome! OK. You ready to
child development
