My mantra for living with multiple myeloma is treatment starts in your mind. [MUSIC PLAYING]
I had no idea what multiple myeloma was. Honestly, it needs to be more highlighted.
Especially African-American community, a lot of times people don't know about multiple myeloma. We are one of the hardest hit communities when it comes
to this particular cancer. Me advocating for myself was the best thing that I could do because if I didn't do that,
then I don't know where I would have been today. It's so important for me to reach out and talk about multiple myeloma because it
is very present in the African-American community. And people are being diagnosed later.
A lot of times, people think that multiple myeloma is an old people disease. And I'm here to tell you that it's not.
I'm here to say that multiple myeloma is not a death sentence if you have the proper mindset and the proper support system.
