I wanted to find a doctor that knew multiple myeloma and that treated a great number of multiple myeloma patients.
And I ended up having to go. It was about an hour and a half away from me. Having to travel an hour and a half to get treatment
was very straining. It was very stressful. I went through a lot of traffic. There was a lot of waiting.
They took your blood work. You had to wait for that to come back. You had to wait for them to prepare the chemo.
I had a very good friend that would accompany me to most of my chemo visits. And we would try to make it as fun as we possibly could.
For me, I was very fortunate to be able to travel to see a doctor.
That's not always the case for people. You know, people don't always have the transportation. They can't get there.
So it's very important to have doctors locally that understand, you know, myeloma,
and what the patient may be going through. [AUDIO LOGO]
