So the most important thing if you're trying to protect yourself from unlicensed medical professionals or medical scams
is to make sure that your surgeon is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, if you're thinking about plastic surgery.
For injections, you can also consider the American Board of Dermatology. And for facial plastic surgery, you can also consider the American Board of Facial Plastic Surgery
as well. But you want to make sure that this doctor has privileges to perform that procedure you're going to have done actually
in a hospital, because hospitals will vet the doctors for you. And in general, if it sounds too good to be true,
it probably is. Location matters if you're thinking about having a cosmetic procedure. So if you're thinking about having an injection
or something minimally invasive, to have it performed in a medical spa or a physician's office is very reasonable.
A hotel, a person's house, a person's basement is not reasonable. And that could be unsterile and could be potentially dangerous.
If you're having actual surgery, you want to look for a fully accredited surgical center or an actual hospital.
Safety should always be your top priority. [AUDIO LOGO]
