[MUSIC PLAYING] Belly fat-- if you've got belly fat, there's a high chance you have a fatty liver. And if you're not sure, you can always ask your doctor.
So fatty liver is this problem that affects almost 1 in 3 Americans-- about 90 million Americans.
And it's when you eat a lot of sugar and high fructose corn syrup and starch, it turns to fat in your liver.
And that creates this huge problem of fatty liver that leads to heart attacks, to diabetes, to cancer.
And it's hidden. Most people don't know they have it because there really aren't a lot of symptoms.
In fact, there are no symptoms of fatty liver except when you go to the doctor and you get your liver test checked. And they can be elevated.
But they may not even be elevated. So there's other clues-- things like high triglycerides; low HDL, which is good cholesterol; high blood
sugar; high blood pressure; and belly fat. If you've got belly fat, there's a high chance you have a fatty liver.
And if you're not sure, you can always ask your doctor for an ultrasound, which can diagnose a fatty liver even if your blood tests are normal.
