Read Transcript

You'll know if you need to seek treatment for depression if you're not able to get over that depression within a two week period, and that's when we do diagnose major depression, or unipolar depression, you have to have this enduring sadness, or sleep disorder, or appetite disorder, or change in usual functioning, or being sad more days than none, for at least two weeks, and if the two weeks does present itself, at the end of that time frame, then you should speak to a psychologist, psychiatrist, social worker, to first of all be diagnosed but secondly to be engaged in therapy, and third to look at the efficacy of medications as well as alternative treatments.
