Recent research shows that humans retain the ability to grow new brain cells via a process called neurogenesis. Watch as neurologist David Perlmutter, MD, explains how we can stimulate our brain to regenerate itself with proper diet and exercise.
We've been told for years that, again we have this finite number of brain cells, neurogenesis tells us otherwise. Leading research has demonstrated that at least for the past decade, that human beings retain the ability to grow new brain cells specifically in the brain's memory center and that is been given this term neurogenesis and there are various things that we can do to in fact stimulate that activity.
So fundamentally what is so incredible and in fact I dedicated a part of the chapter in [xx] to this idea, and that is that we can grow new brain cells. When we cut back the carbs, eat the right fats and get aerobic exercise, the brain can regenerate itself.
