Hi, I'm Dr. Miller, the hard thing about quitting smoking is of course the nicotine craving. Even with anti-craving medication, and nicotine patches the urges to light up can be strong. Try the four Es to give nicotine craving the flip. Evade, change something about situation. At a party for example, hang out with the people who aren't smoking.

Eliminate tension, if stress is making you crave a cigarette, suddenly do some deep breathing. Explain, if you feel figidy or awkward in social situation all you need encouragement or reinforcement, tell people you just quit smoking. You'll be amazed at the support you get. Escape, when all those fail, leave the gathering, because quitting smoking is the most important priority.
