Health Benefits of Beer

Hi, I'm Dr. Darria Long Gillespie. Love your beer, that brew may have some real health benefits. Here are three to feel good about. First, sipping one beer a day may help tame the inflammation that contributes to obesity. Beer, especially dark beer is good for your heart too. It has soluble fiber which helps lower the bad LDL cholesterol.

And here's a special benefit for guys, it may help lower the risk of kidney stones in men. Compounds in hops which are used to make beer slow the release of calcium from your bones which helps prevent kidney stones from forming. In fact, the silicon and beer also help keep your bone strong, but the key to reaping beer's benefits is moderation.
