The overall understanding of brain function has come a long way with the development of amazing technology. In this video, HealthMaker Bruce Miller, MD describes how functional imaging has impacted neuroscience.
One of the huge changes in my lifetime in understanding how the brain works, has been functional imaging, this is MRI technique that is increasingly advancing and it allows us to think about how different circuits in the brain are turning on and off and so I think this is a major enterprise across university's psychology departments, neurology, psychiatry departments and so I think, we're beginning to understand the exact socket that is responsible for specific behaviors cognitive sorts of functions.
Bruce Miller, MD, is a professor of neurology at the University of California, San Francisco. He directs the UCSF dementia center where patients in the San Francisco Bay Area receive comprehensive clinical evaluations.
