Hi, I'm Dr. Miller with a tip if your energy takes a nose dive every afternoon. Take a look at your lunch, what you eat for lunch has a big impact on how you'll feel later in the afternoon. To avoid dozing off your desk, try these lunch time strategies. Keep your lunch small. A heavy meal will make you feel drowsy.

Choose a lunch that's low in carbs and rich in proteins. A carb rich meal raises your levels of melatonin, a hormon that makes you sleepy but, half a grilled chicken sandwich with lots of lettuce and tomato on whole wheat bread will keep you alert through the afternoon. Finally skip dessert. Dessert after lunch buys you a ticket on the hypoglycemic roller coaster.
