How living with intention changed this Blue Zones resident's life

[MUSIC PLAYING] Through the blue zones workshop and the purpose
[INAUDIBLE] that I joined, it introduced me to the idea of purpose. Of living with intention.
I've wanted to make a lot of changes in my life recently, and one of them was being able to exercise and get
into a swimming pool. I'm recently retired and now I have time to exercise like I wish I had been
doing for many, many years. I discovered that I'm having problems with arthritis in doing some of the classes
and using the machines. And I had friends telling me you should get in the water. Take the water classes, and I thought, oh, my gosh.
And I decided I would at least go in the shallow end and take this water wellness class, and as I'm taking this class just
adjacent to the shallow end that I was in were the lap lanes and people swimming. And not all of them were swimming beautifully,
but they were swimming and they were moving. And I said, that really looks like a good workout.
And I was already feeling good about having this experience of exercise in the water,
and I wasn't in pain. And so I took the adult-- the beginning class and discovered that I really
like being in the water. And that was a huge discovery. And once I knew you know how I should be moving
my hands and my feet and that I could keep my head above the water and continue breathing, I felt very comfortable.
This has given me a whole new confidence in myself, in my abilities. I am who I am, and I'm in the pool with other people
that a lot of them look just like me. We're all just comfortable
