Is weight a good determination of health?

Body weight is a fast and easy way to estimate health, but there are many factors that are not accounted for.  First, it does not give a value for body composition, the percentage of fat vs. fat free mass.  Additionally, body weight does not give a viable indication about what is going on inside the body: blood pressure, cholesterol score, glucose levels, etc.  All in all, weight is not a strong determination of health.

Wellness is seen as a combination of mind, body and spirit. Different people may have different ideas about wellness. There is no single set standard for wellness and wellness is a difficult thing to quantify.
