If you are caring for someone with a serious visual impairment, you will need to know their symptoms as well as the course of treatment. It will help if you know what activities they need to avoid, as well as which activities are acceptable, and to help the person if they are unable to complete a task. Be sensitive to their emotional needs, as they may be experiencing a diminished quality of life.
