What are some side effects of skin injuries?

Depending on the type of skin injury, you may have several side effects that result from the breaking of the skin.
  • Pain - Most skin injuries, including minor cuts, scrapes and burns, cause pain. The degree of pain relates to the severity of the injury.
  • Blistering or scarring
  • Infection - Redness, drainage, warmth, and swelling are all signs of infections, which are caused by bacteria infecting a wound.
  • Depression - People with severe burns that cause disfigurement and take a long period of time to heal may become depressed.
