A person in neurogenic shock requires immediate medical attention. In many cases, the person has suffered a severe injury to their nervous system, which warrants emergency care. Treatments will depend on the cause of the neurogenic shock. Surgery may be necessary, in addition to medications, IV fluids, oxygen, or blood transfusions. Spinal injuries and head traumas may cause permanent damage.
