What is the rate of incidence for ranulas?

Simple ranulas (the most typical form) are not common. They occur in about two of every 10,000 people. In a study of 1,303 salivary gland cysts, only 42 of the cysts were ranula. Plunging ranulas (the least typical form) are even more rare.
