Can scabies be prevented?

The mites that cause scabies spread rapidly. To prevent the infestation, it is important that anyone who comes in contact with the infected person also undergo the treatment. In addition, shared bedding and clothes must be washed in hot water and dried with a hot dryer or dry cleaned to prevent infestation.

It is very difficult to prevent scabies. You can avoid coming into skin to skin contact with an infected person until they have been treated. If a person in your house has scabies, everyone should be treated.
